Anonymity, Safety, and Women on the Internet
One of my favorite bloggers, Kathy Sierra of Creating Passionate Users, is in the middle of a very real, very fucked up situation. I hope that things will be sorted out and that Kathy will go back to posting soon. As removed as I am from this brouhaha, I can’t help feeling those old nagging questions about anonymity and character assassination in the blogosphere. Maybe it’s because I’m a woman…don’t get all wiggy…I’m just saying that we’re raised to be afraid to walk alone or in the dark. We’re raised with a higher awareness of safe vs. unsafe. I don’t know. Whatever. Here’s the info if you’re interested in following along.
