The 72 Names of God - My Personal Name

April 12th, 2005

I received the following email from the Kabbalah Centre today:

This is a reply to your request for a personal 72 name that you made on www.72.com website.

According to your time of birth, May 6, 1969, your personal name from “The 72 Names of God” book is:

ALEPH LAMED DALET (#10) — LOOKS CAN KILL — PROTECTION FROM THE EVIL EYE. A shield of positive energy surrounds you, offering protection from the negative glances, looks of envy, and mean spirited intentions of others.

A full description of the name can be found on page 68 of “The 72 Names of God” book.

All the best,

Kabbalah Centre International
1 (800) KABBALAH

I was pretty excited by this since this is the same name of God used with the red bracelet, which I received yesterday.

You will find with the 72 names of God that there is a hidden meaning. If you take the Tetragrammaton Y-H-V-H and measure the distance between the letters you will find that the distance from yud to heh is heh, from heh to vav aleph, and from vav to heh aleph. Heh aleph aleph, the 26th (Y+H+V+H=26) name of God. This works for all of the other names as well. There are practical reasons for the 72 names and be careful of the commercialized Kabbalah Center.

Thank you for such a great comment! See, the commercialized Kabbalah Center concerns me on the one hand. But on the other hand, most other Kabbalist educational institutions don’t seem to allow or encourage women’s interest.

The Kabbalah Center may be commercialized, but who says spiritual growth equals poverty? The thing I like most about the Kabbalah Center if you can look past the store is their ideas. The ideas resonate with me both intellectually and spiritually. Some other kabbalah groups who continually try to defame the Kabbalah Center are showing values that I am trying to change within myself. I suppose that each individual must find spiritual truth that they are comfortable with, and if it encourages them to become a better person, then that is good for all of us. Besides, how much money passes through the Catholic Church each year?

How does one arrive at the personal name from the 72 names of god?

I received my Kabbalah Center email with MY name this morning and it is the same (ALEPH LAMED DALET), and my birthday is May 26 1951. I wonder what the formula is. What has been your experience with the Center since your first contact over a year ago?
